It’s Time…

Wearing a golden yellow dress today has got me feeling uplifted and in tune with myself on a different level. It’s the little things. It’s amazing the power and impact that colour has on your health and wellbeing. Have you ever thought about that? I feel divine!

This brings me to write about today’s musings which is all about our energy.

Energy is really simple. We complicate what it is, by giving it labels, by trying to define it and by categorising it as something that is perceived to be almost somewhat tangible. The truth is, energy is simply experienced, felt and shared.

Have you ever walked into a room and felt that something was not right in that space? Have you ever met someone for the first time and they made you feel like you have known them forever? Have you ever leaped out of bed knowing in your heart that it is going to be an amazing day? Have you ever felt that the time is right for you to start or learn something new and unknown to you? I believe that you always know the truth by the way it feels. Always!

Your energy is truly contagious. The energy in every single being (whether it is animate or inanimate) is truly contagious.

This is why it is so important to stay connected to yourself. It is important to stay connected because this helps keep you in check and helps you vibrate at a higher level of frequency, attracting more of what you actually want in your life. Who can deny you of all the joy that is waiting to present itself to you?

Energy flows where your attention goes they say. So… it’s time to…

Stretch your thinking

Broaden your horizons

Expand your mind

Open your heart

Free your spirit

Raise your vibration

Amplify your energy

Your energy defines you. It all starts with you. It all ends with you. It is omnipresent. It is omnipotent. It is omniscient. Just like the universe!

How blessed are you?

Stay blessed.

Our Love

I like to keep things simple at the best and worst of times. It is the little things that really matter the most. I’ve learned that life has its own plans, timing and way of ‘happening’. Sometimes this perspective forces me to take the backseat and allow things to happen in its own time and place and in the universe’s terms, not mine.

There is only so much we can control in life. Sometimes we have to let go and let love take over. And it is true that it is hard to fully let go. We love having things and situations to happen in our own way and time. We expect so much out of life and people and situations. Expectations can also drive us mad. Expectations can be harmful to our health and stress levels.

So it’s time to stop. It’s time to breathe. It’s time to let go. It’s time to let love.

Love yourself most importantly. Love the people you treasure the most in your life. Love your job(s) and passions. Love your dreams and work on them, one step at a time even. Love the uncertainty of life and what blessings it may gift to you. Love your solitude and the wisdom that it brings.

Our love can change the world. We are all just walking each other home.

Stay blessed.

What I’ve Learned About People

It’s Monday. Every Monday matters.

It’s a new day. There’s plenty to learn. The opportunities are abundant. And in every moment lies new possibilities.

This excites me. This fuels me. This inspired me to write. Just now. So I am.

So… I have something to share with you. I have had the opportunity to meet a lot of new people recently. A lot. And it’s been a real blessing to have these opportunities to meet.

Living in this current technological era, connections are made easily available and are literally at our fingertips. This is true right? It’s just a matter of taking your time to connect with the right people, at the right time and that vibe with you for your highest good.

I have learned some significant lessons recently about people. And I’d like to share them with you as a reminder… just in case you have forgotten.

I’ve learned that…

  • People are different, every single person is different
  • People have their own needs and expectations
  • People have their personal intentions and are out to fulfill those for themselves
  • People are inspired by various aspects of life including things, places, situations, experiences and each other
  • People have their very own beliefs, and will usually stand by them
  • People fear, some fear a lot
  • People have desires, some are never ending
  • People need to be loved and cared for, that’s usually their highest need other than the essentials like food, water and etc.
  • People have feelings, and sometimes feelings are hard to read and can change over time
  • People learn, grow and change in every moment
  • People have the capacity to be compassionate
  • People like to give and receive
  • People are sometimes complex, sometimes simple, sometimes lost and trying to navigate their way in the right direction
  • People are wise
  • People have so much to share, most don’t even realise this
  • People communicate in so many different ways
  • People are sensitive
  • People like to judge
  • People remember, some remember everything and others remember little
  • People are wired differently
  • People have different values
  • People make mistakes, some big and some small
  • People are doing the best that they can
  • People need people

So why have I listed the above? Well, to remind myself about what I’ve learned recently really. I’m not here to tell you anything you don’t know. I’m here to remind you.

To be honest, life grounds me every time I think about what I have learned recently and these learnings and realisations dictate the way I treat and interact with others. It keeps me present. It keeps me true. It keeps me real.

Because of my recent encounters, I’ve learned to be more caring. I’ve learned to be more sensitive. I’ve learned to gauge feelings and sentiments with care. I’ve learned to respect others for who they are and what they believe in. I’ve learned to forgive. I’ve learned to let people be themselves and not how I want them to be or expect them to be. I’ve learned to be open. I’ve learned to better communicate. I’ve learned to accept. I’ve learned not to expect. I’ve learned that every single person is doing the best that they possibly can in that moment. I’ve learned so much about why people need people.

The next time you connect with someone, I encourage you to think about some of the above lessons that I’ve learned. And apply it to your own encounters and situations. It may in fact influence, change or determine the way you connect with them, keeping in mind some of these truths.

Our stories are nothing without people. People teach us so much, a wealth of information is built when you bring a group or even a couple of people together. Simply through sharing.

What will you share next? Who will you share it with? How will this improve your quality of life?

I am keen to know your thoughts.

Stay blessed.

Guided by a Beating Heart

We are all human. We make mistakes. We beat ourselves up. We live and learn. We sometimes fail. We often fall. We have fears. We experience sadness. We lack motivation. We think we are lost. We break promises. We are not perfect. Not now, not ever. We will never be perfect. Perfection doesn’t exist.

What keeps us connected to ourselves is our hearts. Our feelings. Our capacity to feel is infinite. We know the truth by the way it feels. Whatever that ‘it’ maybe.

Some days are rough. We feel disconnected. We experience the rawness. We are wounded. We can see the scars and the sight ain’t that pretty. We question everything. We fear the unknown. These days are difficult. Not only challenging, but also uncertain. So how do we feel connected again?

Well, let’s start by taking a moment. A moment to feel present. A moment to see where we are. A moment to check in on how we are. A moment to observe what is happening around us. A moment to focus on our breath. We are guided by our beating hearts. Because in every heartbeat, in every moment, life changes and evolves. This realisation is powerful. This realisation dictates how we move forward. This realisation is the truth. This brings us back to the present. It brings us back to ourselves. It brings us back to our power.

The simplicity of our existence is something that we don’t ponder about often enough. Everything is simple. Truly simple. However, we are so carried away with what is happening in our lives and wanting to control circumstances that we forget to stay connected with simplicity and as a result life gets complicated.

We don’t know where the journey is going to go or where this journey will end. What we do know is that there is light. There is possibility. There is change. There is the next moment. The next heartbeat. And with that life continues. We are constantly guided by our beating hearts. And grace. Keep soldiering forward. One heartbeat at a time. Let’s walk each other home.

Stay blessed.

The ‘C’ Word

Relax. It’s not what you’re thinking. Read on to feed your own curiosity.

When I was younger I wanted to be older and be an expert at ‘adulting’. And now that I’m older and somewhat wiser (I hope?), I sometimes miss the good old days, the days when nothing really mattered and my heart roamed free of responsibilities and the uncertainty of life.

What I know now is that time flies. It seriously feels like it moves faster than the speed of light.

Looking back in time and reflecting on both the good times and the bad times, the highs and lows, the peaks and troughs, I now realise that I’ve wasted so much time.

I’ve wasted so much time not being fully present in the moments that mattered. I’ve wasted so much time not loving enough. I’ve wasted so much time saying no to opportunities due to my own fears and lack of belief. I’ve wasted so much time questioning rather than accepting and understanding. I’ve wasted so much time feeling like I’m not enough or inadequate. I’ve wasted so much time not being open to endless possibilities and harnessing my power to create. I’ve wasted so much time. And now I can’t get it all back. That’s the sad reality.

I’m not quite sure whether this blog post is going to go anywhere, but I’ll keep writing, trust the process and see what presents itself.

Sometimes we want to see and focus too much on the ‘ending’, the results or the fruits of our labour rather than realigning ourselves with the present moment and the journey itself. It sounds cliched and I write about ‘the now’ frequently but no matter how many times we are reminded of this, we still constantly forget. It’s so easy to get caught up on the results and outcomes, and the truth is the future is not easy to quantify. This is my learning for today. The decisions we make based on the assumptions, beliefs and stories we tell ourselves about our past, present and future dictate what we do on a daily basis, and from moment to moment. The power to choose and live consciously is also heavily influenced by what most people refer to as our ‘self-talk’. And let’s be honest. Our self-talk is not always positive or nurturing is it?

When I write, I always write short snippets of content. I rarely ever write long posts, and to be honest it is simply because I don’t have a long attention span and I find that I digest information more easily when it is fed to me in small doses. And I know this might sound selfish, but I’m not writing this for you or the blogging community. I only write for myself. Everything we do no matter how selfless, compassionate or service-related it is, we do for the benefit of ourselves. Don’t you think that’s true? We do these things because it makes us feel good. And with that in mind, we evolve.

Anyhow, I digress. Going back to speaking of waste. Yes, I’ve wasted a considerable amount of time in my past. So what’s next? What now? Well, given that there’s no going back, and only moving forward and upwards, I am making a commitment. Yikesss! The ‘C’ word gives me the spooks and bouts of anxiety. But I truly am feeling these words so I will continue to write.

I commit to living in the moment. I commit to newness. I commit to learning. I commit to love. I commit to bravery. I commit to myself. I commit to commitment. And the discipline that comes with it!

I think that’s the end. I believe that’s all I have to say. My vessel is empty (for now). My words are complete.

Stay blessed.

Feeling Good

When you feel good, everything around you aligns in your favour! The magic of feeling good is not spoken or heard of very often. We are constantly running in a trance, participating in this rat race that we call life, from place to place, from one person to another, in an attempt to try and get shit done (excuse the French). We sometimes forget to stop or even slow down and just be present. It’s nice to take a break at least once in our twenty-four hour long day to feel good. To be present. To be in the moment. To be grateful for all the things that have gone right.

So this is your chance beautiful people! If you are reading this post, ask yourself, have you taken a moment out today to just stop… breathe… reflect… and to feel good? The power of this sensation is simply amazing. It aligns you to your own inner source so you can continue to create more of what you want in your life. It also ensures that you focus on the positive rather than the negative and recalibrates your vibration to take actions that will help fulfil your goals and desires, however big or small they may be. Every little win counts.

Enjoy feeling good and have a wonderful week.

Stay blessed.

Experience is Everything

I’ve learned to love the quiet moments. Despite all the chaos of everyday life.

Experience is everything. Experience is my greatest teacher. That’s why I love the quiet moments. These moments are filled with deep and meaningful lessons which are enriched by my experiences. They speak so loud. All I need to do is connect within, to listen, to absorb, to soak it all in and grow. To grow deeper into myself. Into who I really am.

Everything has the potential to transform us. We just need to learn patience and understand how to relate to each and every moment, every circumstance, every experience. We need to learn how to consciously engage with life so every little thing, every atom of being contributes to our inner awakening.

No matter how evolved we become, we must always stay humble for there is so much to learn and so much more work to be done to grow. Time will never stop for us. So enjoy the quiet moments when you can. They are filled with the greatest wisdom. Listen carefully to what your soul wants to teach you and experience! Your light of consciousness will grow in these beautiful and quiet moments. Stay blessed.

What Did Not Demolish Me Simply Polished Me

Do you feel this way about certain moments or experiences in your life? Some of us have had to start over. In fact, many of us have had to start over in life. No matter what circumstances, stories or experiences we’ve been through, we’ve had moments where we’ve been destroyed in a matter of seconds and we’ve had to rebuild ourselves from the ground up.

The truth is, what did not destroy us simply polished us. Like diamonds. Even sharper, shinier and sparklier!

Life humbles us so deeply as we age. I’ve been on this earth for just over three decades now and this is the most profound lesson I’ve learned.

Stay blessed.
