Springing into September

It’s the first day of Spring. Do I need to say more? It’s definitely my favourite season of the year.

As the days get longer, the light gets brighter, the colours get more vibrant and the expressions on peoples’ faces become more uplifted… these are some of the simple and yet wonderful reasons as to why I’m springing into September.

Yes, I’ve been quiet lately. I’ve recently become a student again and have returned ‘back to school’ to study! It’s been a really enjoyable and interesting journey thus far (only 3 weeks in) and I look forward to embracing all the new learning, connections  and excitement that is yet to come.

I love the magic of new beginnings. And the beginning of spring has got my heart smiling and my senses open to new experiences. Although sometimes life overwhelms me, and I feel overcome by fear, anxiety and self-doubt, these are the deepest and darkest moments when I pray to the universe to remove all stress and worry from my mind and to give me the perfect peace that will carry me through the waves of life.

Life, as Macbeth tells us, is ‘a tale, told by an idiot, full of sound and fury, signifying nothing’. In a season that is yet to be packed full of action, it is worth remembering our beloved Shakespeare’s words. It is truly important to keep your sense of perspective as you witness dramatic moves, shifts, situations and decisions. It is easier to have faith in your feelings about what is really going on and to choose to consciously focus on what will serve your highest purpose.

In a world where you can be anything… choose to be kind, choose love! And always remember, you’re being taken care of by a kindly sky.

Stay blessed.

Surrender

Here we are again… it’s Sunday evening and I’m sitting on my bed with my laptop and a cuppa tea in hand. As I reflect on the past week that has just gone by and prepare for the upcoming week that I’m about to embark on, I’d like to take the lessons that I’ve learned over the last seven days to serve me in the coming days.

Today I write about surrender. Why? Well this is a recurring theme that has shadowed me throughout some very significant events in my life.

Last night as I was on my way to a very special event that my friend had organised, I was alerted by a notification in my car warning me of tyre pressure loss. That meant I should’ve literally taken the warning seriously and pulled over to call roadside assist! Well, what did I do instead? I kept driving. I know most of you will think I’m crazy. But I did it anyway. I drove all the way to Blacktown and back home, a total of 42km with an almost flat tyre. Why? Because my intention was to make an appearance at this event and to pass my love to my friend and I knew I would be taken care of by the higher forces of life, the universe. So I surrendered.

I knew I had to surrender to the fact that anything could have happened in any moment. But I kept driving anyway! And I was prepared mentally to deal with the circumstances. I’m not sure what influenced my thoughts and my intentions last night as I drove what was an unreliable car at that point, but I felt so sure that I was protected and I would be ok.

Surrender for me is about learning to let go and let love. Surrender for me is about trusting the process. Surrender for me is knowing that divine guidance knows what is best for my highest good. Surrender for me is about allowing it to be. And so in every moment and situation, I like to do my level best to truly surrender. Being a typical control freak and perfectionist that I am, this appears to be a challenge sometimes at the best and worst of times. However, like learning to strengthen a muscle, I continue to implement this spiritual practice in my life and deepen my understanding about life itself.

Surrendering has taught me some really important and deep life lessons! It’s taught me about flowing peacefully with the energy force of the universe. It’s taught me about letting go of limiting beliefs and thoughts and opening myself up to the finest possibilities. It’s taught me how to keep breathing even in the midst of adversity and to grow through every moment. It’s taught me how to float freely and rise above challenging times. It’s taught me how to let go of judgment. It’s taught me to how to enjoy every experience and opportunity that is presented to me. It’s taught me how to return to love. It’s taught me how to celebrate the miracle of being.

So many lessons, such a simple practice. I have been deeply enriched by learning how to surrender and this learning deepens as I continue to lap around the sun. The power of surrender is not something you can put into words. The power of surrender is truly magical.

What has surrender taught you? I’d love for you to share by commenting below.

Stay blessed.

It’s Time…

Wearing a golden yellow dress today has got me feeling uplifted and in tune with myself on a different level. It’s the little things. It’s amazing the power and impact that colour has on your health and wellbeing. Have you ever thought about that? I feel divine!

This brings me to write about today’s musings which is all about our energy.

Energy is really simple. We complicate what it is, by giving it labels, by trying to define it and by categorising it as something that is perceived to be almost somewhat tangible. The truth is, energy is simply experienced, felt and shared.

Have you ever walked into a room and felt that something was not right in that space? Have you ever met someone for the first time and they made you feel like you have known them forever? Have you ever leaped out of bed knowing in your heart that it is going to be an amazing day? Have you ever felt that the time is right for you to start or learn something new and unknown to you? I believe that you always know the truth by the way it feels. Always!

Your energy is truly contagious. The energy in every single being (whether it is animate or inanimate) is truly contagious.

This is why it is so important to stay connected to yourself. It is important to stay connected because this helps keep you in check and helps you vibrate at a higher level of frequency, attracting more of what you actually want in your life. Who can deny you of all the joy that is waiting to present itself to you?

Energy flows where your attention goes they say. So… it’s time to…

Stretch your thinking

Broaden your horizons

Expand your mind

Open your heart

Free your spirit

Raise your vibration

Amplify your energy

Your energy defines you. It all starts with you. It all ends with you. It is omnipresent. It is omnipotent. It is omniscient. Just like the universe!

How blessed are you?

Stay blessed.

Our Love

I like to keep things simple at the best and worst of times. It is the little things that really matter the most. I’ve learned that life has its own plans, timing and way of ‘happening’. Sometimes this perspective forces me to take the backseat and allow things to happen in its own time and place and in the universe’s terms, not mine.

There is only so much we can control in life. Sometimes we have to let go and let love take over. And it is true that it is hard to fully let go. We love having things and situations to happen in our own way and time. We expect so much out of life and people and situations. Expectations can also drive us mad. Expectations can be harmful to our health and stress levels.

So it’s time to stop. It’s time to breathe. It’s time to let go. It’s time to let love.

Love yourself most importantly. Love the people you treasure the most in your life. Love your job(s) and passions. Love your dreams and work on them, one step at a time even. Love the uncertainty of life and what blessings it may gift to you. Love your solitude and the wisdom that it brings.

Our love can change the world. We are all just walking each other home.

Stay blessed.

Never Give Up

That’s right. Never give up! The opportunities are abundant. Stay focused.

Do you have big dreams that you want to see materialise? Are you taking actionable steps to reach them? Are your intentions aligned to you achieving them? Have you got your goals written down and stored somewhere special that resonates with you? Are you moving forward, or moving at all?

These are some questions that came to mind just now when I thought about my own dreams, about what I want to achieve and about where I am in life.

You see, I’ve always been a high achiever (like most of you!) and this personality trait comes with its own pluses and minuses. The ‘pluses’ include being a go-getter at heart, always driven, committed, itching to continuously learn and grow and constantly wanting to move on because what I have isn’t simply enough, I want more… all the time.

Now to the ‘minuses’… well I beat myself up a lot when things don’t go the way I want them to, I constantly put pressure on myself to exceed my own expectations and others’ expectations, I don’t deal well with failure, I fear failure, I am constantly looking for what’s ‘new and better’, the desires are endless, I am rarely ever settled, I constantly question my own progress and performance, sometimes things are just not good enough and I am left unsatisfied with the circumstances of certain situations.

Now, to be honest I feel like I’ve focused more on the negatives than the positives. But my drive to excel and to keep growing is far greater than anything else that I desire in life.

This is just a reminder to myself really (and you if you’re reading this too), that it’s never too late. The truth is, life is a demanding journey, especially as you grow older and wiser. There’s never a reason that is justified to give up on what you really want. Stay focused. Keep trying. Be humble. Learn lots. Believe in yourself. Enjoy newness. Rise strong. Celebrate the good. Keep it real. Explore the unknown. And create magic with the power of the source that lies within you! *Insert fist pump here*.

Never give up!

That’s all I felt compelled to write for today.

Stay blessed.

What’s Blocking You?

Right now, in this moment, what is blocking you from having what you want? What is blocking you from having what you would like? What is blocking you from the possibility of realising your dreams, your full potential, acquiring your desires and being the absolute best version of yourself?

The amount of work that we channel and invest in ourselves dictates our level of progress and how far we go in life. Time doesn’t stop for us. In every moment, we experience change. In every moment, we evolve. In every moment we have the power to realise and materialise our desires and dreams!

So what is it? Honestly. What is blocking you right now? Is it fear? Is it resistance? Is it negative emotion? Is it the unknown? Is it uncertainty? Is it past experiences? Write it down. Write it all down. Set aside some time to reflect on this.

Remember to check in with yourself regularly. We sometimes get so caught up with life and the day to day that we forget to stop and check in.

Transform your fear into faith. Transform your resistance to taking action. Transform your uncertainty to clarity. Transform the unknown to possibilities. And most of all, work on transforming yourself. The true power and grace lies within you. It all starts with you. That’s all for today.

Stay blessed.

Guided by a Beating Heart

We are all human. We make mistakes. We beat ourselves up. We live and learn. We sometimes fail. We often fall. We have fears. We experience sadness. We lack motivation. We think we are lost. We break promises. We are not perfect. Not now, not ever. We will never be perfect. Perfection doesn’t exist.

What keeps us connected to ourselves is our hearts. Our feelings. Our capacity to feel is infinite. We know the truth by the way it feels. Whatever that ‘it’ maybe.

Some days are rough. We feel disconnected. We experience the rawness. We are wounded. We can see the scars and the sight ain’t that pretty. We question everything. We fear the unknown. These days are difficult. Not only challenging, but also uncertain. So how do we feel connected again?

Well, let’s start by taking a moment. A moment to feel present. A moment to see where we are. A moment to check in on how we are. A moment to observe what is happening around us. A moment to focus on our breath. We are guided by our beating hearts. Because in every heartbeat, in every moment, life changes and evolves. This realisation is powerful. This realisation dictates how we move forward. This realisation is the truth. This brings us back to the present. It brings us back to ourselves. It brings us back to our power.

The simplicity of our existence is something that we don’t ponder about often enough. Everything is simple. Truly simple. However, we are so carried away with what is happening in our lives and wanting to control circumstances that we forget to stay connected with simplicity and as a result life gets complicated.

We don’t know where the journey is going to go or where this journey will end. What we do know is that there is light. There is possibility. There is change. There is the next moment. The next heartbeat. And with that life continues. We are constantly guided by our beating hearts. And grace. Keep soldiering forward. One heartbeat at a time. Let’s walk each other home.

Stay blessed.

The ‘C’ Word

Relax. It’s not what you’re thinking. Read on to feed your own curiosity.

When I was younger I wanted to be older and be an expert at ‘adulting’. And now that I’m older and somewhat wiser (I hope?), I sometimes miss the good old days, the days when nothing really mattered and my heart roamed free of responsibilities and the uncertainty of life.

What I know now is that time flies. It seriously feels like it moves faster than the speed of light.

Looking back in time and reflecting on both the good times and the bad times, the highs and lows, the peaks and troughs, I now realise that I’ve wasted so much time.

I’ve wasted so much time not being fully present in the moments that mattered. I’ve wasted so much time not loving enough. I’ve wasted so much time saying no to opportunities due to my own fears and lack of belief. I’ve wasted so much time questioning rather than accepting and understanding. I’ve wasted so much time feeling like I’m not enough or inadequate. I’ve wasted so much time not being open to endless possibilities and harnessing my power to create. I’ve wasted so much time. And now I can’t get it all back. That’s the sad reality.

I’m not quite sure whether this blog post is going to go anywhere, but I’ll keep writing, trust the process and see what presents itself.

Sometimes we want to see and focus too much on the ‘ending’, the results or the fruits of our labour rather than realigning ourselves with the present moment and the journey itself. It sounds cliched and I write about ‘the now’ frequently but no matter how many times we are reminded of this, we still constantly forget. It’s so easy to get caught up on the results and outcomes, and the truth is the future is not easy to quantify. This is my learning for today. The decisions we make based on the assumptions, beliefs and stories we tell ourselves about our past, present and future dictate what we do on a daily basis, and from moment to moment. The power to choose and live consciously is also heavily influenced by what most people refer to as our ‘self-talk’. And let’s be honest. Our self-talk is not always positive or nurturing is it?

When I write, I always write short snippets of content. I rarely ever write long posts, and to be honest it is simply because I don’t have a long attention span and I find that I digest information more easily when it is fed to me in small doses. And I know this might sound selfish, but I’m not writing this for you or the blogging community. I only write for myself. Everything we do no matter how selfless, compassionate or service-related it is, we do for the benefit of ourselves. Don’t you think that’s true? We do these things because it makes us feel good. And with that in mind, we evolve.

Anyhow, I digress. Going back to speaking of waste. Yes, I’ve wasted a considerable amount of time in my past. So what’s next? What now? Well, given that there’s no going back, and only moving forward and upwards, I am making a commitment. Yikesss! The ‘C’ word gives me the spooks and bouts of anxiety. But I truly am feeling these words so I will continue to write.

I commit to living in the moment. I commit to newness. I commit to learning. I commit to love. I commit to bravery. I commit to myself. I commit to commitment. And the discipline that comes with it!

I think that’s the end. I believe that’s all I have to say. My vessel is empty (for now). My words are complete.

Stay blessed.

From Doing to Being

Sometimes it’s important to stop doing and just be. Enjoy ‘being’. It’s a verb. It’s about being present. And aligned. To what’s at the core of your spirit and consciousness.

Life has us running so fast sometimes… from place to place… people to people… from one experience to another. Sometimes we forget to take a break and check in on our alignment. Sometimes we forget to ask ourselves how we are actually doing.

This holiday season I had the privilege of spending time with loved ones. And especially with myself. I got to practice the art of being. To just sit quietly. And to enjoy the solitude that is found in being alone. Not lonely. But alone.

Silence teaches us so much. When we are being, we learn so much about ourselves, we find clarity in our experiences and wisdom in the lessons that we absorb through time and space. I also find that when I invest time in being, a lot of things fall into place effortlessly. I can’t explain why and how this works in words, but they just do. Our point of creation is at its peak when we are in a state of being. It’s critical that we have the right intentions, projections and dreams to fulfil because chances are they will. All in divine timing. And for our highest good. I trust this. I believe this. I know this. I just need to remember this!

Will you make time to stop and just be? Enjoy being.

Stay blessed.
