My Ingredients for Success

As a marketing professional, over the years I have always had drilled into me the importance of the traditional marketing mix, namely the Four P’s in business – Product, Price, Place and Promotion. This builds the very foundation of every business and defines the strategic and marketing objectives to the core.

Now we move on to talking about life and creative ideas…

Going back to basics and to grassroots, I am a firm believer in the fact that ideas generally always start small and have the potential to materialise BIG.

This also depends on the person that’s giving birth to these ideas, the one that’s breathing life into these ideas, the one that’s making sh*t happen (excuse the French). It takes a mammoth effort to bring an idea to life but what’s most amazing about it is the person’s journey and all the learning and growth that happens during the process.

To bring an idea to life takes plenty of work and what I like to refer to as my Four P’s in Life – Patience, Persistence, Perseverance and Positivity.

Why Patience?

It takes time, time and even more time for progress to take place. Stay humble and accept all the wins and lessons (not losses). Set goals in place and stay focused and committed to the higher purpose.

Why Persistence?

Consistency and persistence is key to keep moving forward. The only way is forward. And there are always learnings along the way.

Why Perseverance?

No one can make you do anything in life. Only you can! So you need to push yourself and to really want something to make it happen.

Why Positivity?

A positive and healthy mindset is vital to having a consistent approach to achieving your dreams and visions. Think mind over matter always and focus on the silver linings when life throws curveballs and challenges your way.

Do you have these four noble qualities? Is this something you’re working on? These are my four ingredients for success and I wanted to share them with you today.

Take it from a marketer of both marketing and life in general. The core business objectives of an idea are crucial but what really drives you deep down are your personal objectives. It always comes down to the people. Motivating your people. Motivating yourself.

Remember, it’s rain that grows flowers not thunder. Plant some seeds this weekend and watch them develop into something meaningful and amazing. Keep moving forward, just one step (or leap) at a time.

Stay blessed.

Keep Building

Keep building. Don’t stop.

This is my mantra for the week.

If you think about it and break it down, it only takes one step at a time to keep building.

Whatever you’re starting, whatever you’re working on, whatever you’re taking to newer heights, remember that all it takes is a step. One step to move forward. One step to make progress. One step to keep building.

Although you are here in the wild of changing times, things, seasons and you don’t know what tomorrow will bring… you can still loosen your shoulders and learn to make the most of where you are at this point in time. In this exact moment, you are still evolving, still making progress, still building, even if you feel like you’re not. And perhaps in these moments, you will continue to grow in grace and in strength. A little by little, you are becoming an even better version of yourself. These moments will all be a part of the story you will tell one day.

And just remember one thing… your successes do not define you… and neither will your failures. What matters most and defines you is your happiness in this moment, which will define the next moment, and the next… and the next.

Stay blessed.

Your People

Sometimes I feel like I am floating through life… connecting with the right people at the right time… learnings the lessons that I am meant to learn and absorb… living and digesting every moment the way that it’s meant to be experienced… in the most perfect way.

Today I wanted to bring light to ‘Your People’. You know, those people in your life that are simply yours! It’s not that you really own them or anything silly like that, but those people that ‘orbit’ around you for a reason, whether they are family, friends, work colleagues, acquaintances you see often and so forth.

I’m simply talking about…. The people you live with. The people you have grown to know. The people that make your day. The people that make a difference in your life. The people that influence your decisions.  The people that give you a reason to smile. The people that help you. The people that spend time with you. The people that openly share their feelings with you. The people that even sit in absolute silence with you (and time still flies).

These are YOUR PEOPLE!

People are amazing I find, no matter who they are or where they are from. Each person is deeply enriched with various experiences to share and enhance your life. Because they teach us so much about ourselves and also about each other.

We often forget this. We often forget how valuable the people in our lives really are. So I wanted to bring this to light today! I wanted to remind you to be present. I wanted to remind you to be grateful. I wanted you to remind you to appreciate how rich you really are!

Embrace your people. And when you do… think about what they do for you because that is their gift to you. And don’t stop there… Also think about how you can enrich their lives too. That is your gift to yourself!

Stay blessed.

Have you ever spoken to your knee?

Today’s inspiration is one of my heroes Shane Rao, my dearest friend whom I like to call ‘Shine’, because he really does.

Now you are probably wondering what the title is all about and what that has to do with anything. Beware … you need to be open-minded to read and digest what I (we) have to say.

So you know that our minds and bodies are connected and work together in synergy right? Let’s go back to the basics. I believe that what we feel emotionally and mentally always reflect in our bodies and health and everything is truly interconnected.

So what’s the story you ask?

Well… my friend ‘Shine’ was complaining about his knee pain that he had recently and he said to me “You know Hareni, the other day I had excruciating knee pain, so I decided to speak to it, and ask what’s going on”. He was so determined to get through his day without his knee playing up, so he decided to have a conversation with his knee. This ‘heart to knee’ conversation resulted in a miraculous disappearance of his pain!! How does this even make any sense you ask?

Well… he became present in the moment that he connected with his knee, his body, his temple. His ‘heart to knee’ conversation allowed him to become deeply conscious and one with the pain, it enabled him to heal himself. And he had no idea he even had this power! He was pleasantly surprised and told himself he should do this more often.

So what’s today lesson (to myself and perhaps you)? The next time you are in pain or experiencing a health issue, talk to yourself or that part of you that is struggling or suffering, have a ‘heart to heart’ with yourself, check in, see how you’re feeling, like really feeling, and sort out your emotions. Because every single feeling and emotion will reflect in your body and in your overall being. Every single atom in your body is alive. Have you forgotten that? Well, now it’s time to remember. Enjoy the magical experience of connecting with your inner being to heal everything you truly are! And that is love.

You have so many stories to tell. And your body has carried you through so much. Remember to be grateful for how far you’ve come. And prepare for the beautiful road ahead!

If you’re keen to learn more about the connection between your mind and body, I highly recommend the book ‘The Secret Language Of Your Body’ by Inna Segal.

Thanks to my dearest brother ‘Shine’ for constantly inspiring me with your stories of strength and perseverance. You truly are a warrior of light and I can’t wait for the world to hear your stories (straight from the source). I am grateful for having the opportunity to be your messenger girl (just this once).

Keep ‘shining’ everyone!!

Stay blessed.

Dreams can come true!

In each and every moment, with each and every thought, backed by each and every belief, we have the potential to create something new and truly magical!

One Wish.

One Vision.

One Step.

That’s all it takes to start something. Dreams can come true!

Today is the first day of May! Where is the time flying? Get started on your goals. Keep moving forward. Realise those dreams!

Sometimes we get stuck looking at the bigger picture and at other times we get stuck in the finer details and the nitty gritty. Wherever you are right now, find peace in your state of being, your space, your moment, your environment. Think about where you want to go next? What you want to see happen soon? How you want to achieve it? And then go for it! Let no one get in your way. No one can stop you now. You are unstoppable.

When you get overwhelmed in the process of trying to achieve your dreams, it’s always important to take a step back and to let go a little. I can personally say that as a woman, my inner ‘control freak’ likes to get in the way sometimes when things don’t go the way I want them to. Sometimes you need to embrace acceptance and be humbled by your experiences and realise that any delays or redirections along your journey are just blessings in disguise taking you even closer to achieving the dreams you truly desire. The route may not always be identical to what you had planned, but it’s always a part of the bigger plan, the divine plan.

Have faith in this.

Be true to yourself.

Keep moving.

Stay blessed.

It’s Time…

Wearing a golden yellow dress today has got me feeling uplifted and in tune with myself on a different level. It’s the little things. It’s amazing the power and impact that colour has on your health and wellbeing. Have you ever thought about that? I feel divine!

This brings me to write about today’s musings which is all about our energy.

Energy is really simple. We complicate what it is, by giving it labels, by trying to define it and by categorising it as something that is perceived to be almost somewhat tangible. The truth is, energy is simply experienced, felt and shared.

Have you ever walked into a room and felt that something was not right in that space? Have you ever met someone for the first time and they made you feel like you have known them forever? Have you ever leaped out of bed knowing in your heart that it is going to be an amazing day? Have you ever felt that the time is right for you to start or learn something new and unknown to you? I believe that you always know the truth by the way it feels. Always!

Your energy is truly contagious. The energy in every single being (whether it is animate or inanimate) is truly contagious.

This is why it is so important to stay connected to yourself. It is important to stay connected because this helps keep you in check and helps you vibrate at a higher level of frequency, attracting more of what you actually want in your life. Who can deny you of all the joy that is waiting to present itself to you?

Energy flows where your attention goes they say. So… it’s time to…

Stretch your thinking

Broaden your horizons

Expand your mind

Open your heart

Free your spirit

Raise your vibration

Amplify your energy

Your energy defines you. It all starts with you. It all ends with you. It is omnipresent. It is omnipotent. It is omniscient. Just like the universe!

How blessed are you?

Stay blessed.

Our Love

I like to keep things simple at the best and worst of times. It is the little things that really matter the most. I’ve learned that life has its own plans, timing and way of ‘happening’. Sometimes this perspective forces me to take the backseat and allow things to happen in its own time and place and in the universe’s terms, not mine.

There is only so much we can control in life. Sometimes we have to let go and let love take over. And it is true that it is hard to fully let go. We love having things and situations to happen in our own way and time. We expect so much out of life and people and situations. Expectations can also drive us mad. Expectations can be harmful to our health and stress levels.

So it’s time to stop. It’s time to breathe. It’s time to let go. It’s time to let love.

Love yourself most importantly. Love the people you treasure the most in your life. Love your job(s) and passions. Love your dreams and work on them, one step at a time even. Love the uncertainty of life and what blessings it may gift to you. Love your solitude and the wisdom that it brings.

Our love can change the world. We are all just walking each other home.

Stay blessed.

There’s a Blessing

There’s a blessing in every lesson. No matter where you are in life, what you are experiencing right now, who you are having to deal with, when you are about to make a life-changing decision, or why certain situations are happening the way that they are, remember that there is a blessing in every single lesson.

Although I think I have only seen and experienced half of what my life span may perhaps be, I feel like I have been through enough to learn and believe that there is certainly a reason for why everything in life happens the way that it does. It is also important to remember that every time something does not go your way, your life is not doomed but in fact is being beautifully redirected to something far better and more meaningful than what you had planned or imagined for yourself. Trust in this. Trust in timing. Trust in the process. Be patient. And let life flow in divine timing!

Today, I am thankful for all the lessons. I am thankful for all the blessings. I am thankful for all the things that I wanted and couldn’t have. I am thankful for the things that did not go my way. I am thankful for all the rejections. I am thankful for all the hurt and pain I have endured. I am thankful for all the bad decisions I have made. I am thankful for the past. Because without what I have been through, I wouldn’t be who I am today. And I have grown. A lot. And I am truly grateful for that.

Stay blessed.

What Matters Most

Everything is matter. But have you thought about what matter matters most to you?

Is it your job? Is it your relationship? Is it your family? Is it your car? Is it your house? Is it your money? I could go on building this list of all that matters to you and it may even be never ending.

Today, it occurred to me that I am just a witness. A witness of all that is. A witness of all that surrounds me. A witness of all that I experience. A witness to people, places and objects. We are all eternal witnesses of all that is transient. The only constant is change.

This is so grounding to me you see. Because it puts everything into perspective. Nothing we have or own is ever truly ours, although we’d like to think and believe otherwise. Everything is temporary and ever changing.

So enjoy the experience! Enjoy what matters to you in this moment. Appreciate all that is. Be forever grateful for all that was. And be present, because that is where the power truly lies!

It’s important to acknowledge that we are the matter that matters the most. Because that is all we ever truly have, in every moment, until the end of time.

Stay blessed.
