Springing into September

It’s the first day of Spring. Do I need to say more? It’s definitely my favourite season of the year.

As the days get longer, the light gets brighter, the colours get more vibrant and the expressions on peoples’ faces become more uplifted… these are some of the simple and yet wonderful reasons as to why I’m springing into September.

Yes, I’ve been quiet lately. I’ve recently become a student again and have returned ‘back to school’ to study! It’s been a really enjoyable and interesting journey thus far (only 3 weeks in) and I look forward to embracing all the new learning, connections  and excitement that is yet to come.

I love the magic of new beginnings. And the beginning of spring has got my heart smiling and my senses open to new experiences. Although sometimes life overwhelms me, and I feel overcome by fear, anxiety and self-doubt, these are the deepest and darkest moments when I pray to the universe to remove all stress and worry from my mind and to give me the perfect peace that will carry me through the waves of life.

Life, as Macbeth tells us, is ‘a tale, told by an idiot, full of sound and fury, signifying nothing’. In a season that is yet to be packed full of action, it is worth remembering our beloved Shakespeare’s words. It is truly important to keep your sense of perspective as you witness dramatic moves, shifts, situations and decisions. It is easier to have faith in your feelings about what is really going on and to choose to consciously focus on what will serve your highest purpose.

In a world where you can be anything… choose to be kind, choose love! And always remember, you’re being taken care of by a kindly sky.

Stay blessed.

Surrender

Here we are again… it’s Sunday evening and I’m sitting on my bed with my laptop and a cuppa tea in hand. As I reflect on the past week that has just gone by and prepare for the upcoming week that I’m about to embark on, I’d like to take the lessons that I’ve learned over the last seven days to serve me in the coming days.

Today I write about surrender. Why? Well this is a recurring theme that has shadowed me throughout some very significant events in my life.

Last night as I was on my way to a very special event that my friend had organised, I was alerted by a notification in my car warning me of tyre pressure loss. That meant I should’ve literally taken the warning seriously and pulled over to call roadside assist! Well, what did I do instead? I kept driving. I know most of you will think I’m crazy. But I did it anyway. I drove all the way to Blacktown and back home, a total of 42km with an almost flat tyre. Why? Because my intention was to make an appearance at this event and to pass my love to my friend and I knew I would be taken care of by the higher forces of life, the universe. So I surrendered.

I knew I had to surrender to the fact that anything could have happened in any moment. But I kept driving anyway! And I was prepared mentally to deal with the circumstances. I’m not sure what influenced my thoughts and my intentions last night as I drove what was an unreliable car at that point, but I felt so sure that I was protected and I would be ok.

Surrender for me is about learning to let go and let love. Surrender for me is about trusting the process. Surrender for me is knowing that divine guidance knows what is best for my highest good. Surrender for me is about allowing it to be. And so in every moment and situation, I like to do my level best to truly surrender. Being a typical control freak and perfectionist that I am, this appears to be a challenge sometimes at the best and worst of times. However, like learning to strengthen a muscle, I continue to implement this spiritual practice in my life and deepen my understanding about life itself.

Surrendering has taught me some really important and deep life lessons! It’s taught me about flowing peacefully with the energy force of the universe. It’s taught me about letting go of limiting beliefs and thoughts and opening myself up to the finest possibilities. It’s taught me how to keep breathing even in the midst of adversity and to grow through every moment. It’s taught me how to float freely and rise above challenging times. It’s taught me how to let go of judgment. It’s taught me to how to enjoy every experience and opportunity that is presented to me. It’s taught me how to return to love. It’s taught me how to celebrate the miracle of being.

So many lessons, such a simple practice. I have been deeply enriched by learning how to surrender and this learning deepens as I continue to lap around the sun. The power of surrender is not something you can put into words. The power of surrender is truly magical.

What has surrender taught you? I’d love for you to share by commenting below.

Stay blessed.

My Ingredients for Success

As a marketing professional, over the years I have always had drilled into me the importance of the traditional marketing mix, namely the Four P’s in business – Product, Price, Place and Promotion. This builds the very foundation of every business and defines the strategic and marketing objectives to the core.

Now we move on to talking about life and creative ideas…

Going back to basics and to grassroots, I am a firm believer in the fact that ideas generally always start small and have the potential to materialise BIG.

This also depends on the person that’s giving birth to these ideas, the one that’s breathing life into these ideas, the one that’s making sh*t happen (excuse the French). It takes a mammoth effort to bring an idea to life but what’s most amazing about it is the person’s journey and all the learning and growth that happens during the process.

To bring an idea to life takes plenty of work and what I like to refer to as my Four P’s in Life – Patience, Persistence, Perseverance and Positivity.

Why Patience?

It takes time, time and even more time for progress to take place. Stay humble and accept all the wins and lessons (not losses). Set goals in place and stay focused and committed to the higher purpose.

Why Persistence?

Consistency and persistence is key to keep moving forward. The only way is forward. And there are always learnings along the way.

Why Perseverance?

No one can make you do anything in life. Only you can! So you need to push yourself and to really want something to make it happen.

Why Positivity?

A positive and healthy mindset is vital to having a consistent approach to achieving your dreams and visions. Think mind over matter always and focus on the silver linings when life throws curveballs and challenges your way.

Do you have these four noble qualities? Is this something you’re working on? These are my four ingredients for success and I wanted to share them with you today.

Take it from a marketer of both marketing and life in general. The core business objectives of an idea are crucial but what really drives you deep down are your personal objectives. It always comes down to the people. Motivating your people. Motivating yourself.

Remember, it’s rain that grows flowers not thunder. Plant some seeds this weekend and watch them develop into something meaningful and amazing. Keep moving forward, just one step (or leap) at a time.

Stay blessed.

Your People

Sometimes I feel like I am floating through life… connecting with the right people at the right time… learnings the lessons that I am meant to learn and absorb… living and digesting every moment the way that it’s meant to be experienced… in the most perfect way.

Today I wanted to bring light to ‘Your People’. You know, those people in your life that are simply yours! It’s not that you really own them or anything silly like that, but those people that ‘orbit’ around you for a reason, whether they are family, friends, work colleagues, acquaintances you see often and so forth.

I’m simply talking about…. The people you live with. The people you have grown to know. The people that make your day. The people that make a difference in your life. The people that influence your decisions.  The people that give you a reason to smile. The people that help you. The people that spend time with you. The people that openly share their feelings with you. The people that even sit in absolute silence with you (and time still flies).

These are YOUR PEOPLE!

People are amazing I find, no matter who they are or where they are from. Each person is deeply enriched with various experiences to share and enhance your life. Because they teach us so much about ourselves and also about each other.

We often forget this. We often forget how valuable the people in our lives really are. So I wanted to bring this to light today! I wanted to remind you to be present. I wanted to remind you to be grateful. I wanted you to remind you to appreciate how rich you really are!

Embrace your people. And when you do… think about what they do for you because that is their gift to you. And don’t stop there… Also think about how you can enrich their lives too. That is your gift to yourself!

Stay blessed.

Our Love

I like to keep things simple at the best and worst of times. It is the little things that really matter the most. I’ve learned that life has its own plans, timing and way of ‘happening’. Sometimes this perspective forces me to take the backseat and allow things to happen in its own time and place and in the universe’s terms, not mine.

There is only so much we can control in life. Sometimes we have to let go and let love take over. And it is true that it is hard to fully let go. We love having things and situations to happen in our own way and time. We expect so much out of life and people and situations. Expectations can also drive us mad. Expectations can be harmful to our health and stress levels.

So it’s time to stop. It’s time to breathe. It’s time to let go. It’s time to let love.

Love yourself most importantly. Love the people you treasure the most in your life. Love your job(s) and passions. Love your dreams and work on them, one step at a time even. Love the uncertainty of life and what blessings it may gift to you. Love your solitude and the wisdom that it brings.

Our love can change the world. We are all just walking each other home.

Stay blessed.

There’s a Blessing

There’s a blessing in every lesson. No matter where you are in life, what you are experiencing right now, who you are having to deal with, when you are about to make a life-changing decision, or why certain situations are happening the way that they are, remember that there is a blessing in every single lesson.

Although I think I have only seen and experienced half of what my life span may perhaps be, I feel like I have been through enough to learn and believe that there is certainly a reason for why everything in life happens the way that it does. It is also important to remember that every time something does not go your way, your life is not doomed but in fact is being beautifully redirected to something far better and more meaningful than what you had planned or imagined for yourself. Trust in this. Trust in timing. Trust in the process. Be patient. And let life flow in divine timing!

Today, I am thankful for all the lessons. I am thankful for all the blessings. I am thankful for all the things that I wanted and couldn’t have. I am thankful for the things that did not go my way. I am thankful for all the rejections. I am thankful for all the hurt and pain I have endured. I am thankful for all the bad decisions I have made. I am thankful for the past. Because without what I have been through, I wouldn’t be who I am today. And I have grown. A lot. And I am truly grateful for that.

Stay blessed.

Never Give Up

That’s right. Never give up! The opportunities are abundant. Stay focused.

Do you have big dreams that you want to see materialise? Are you taking actionable steps to reach them? Are your intentions aligned to you achieving them? Have you got your goals written down and stored somewhere special that resonates with you? Are you moving forward, or moving at all?

These are some questions that came to mind just now when I thought about my own dreams, about what I want to achieve and about where I am in life.

You see, I’ve always been a high achiever (like most of you!) and this personality trait comes with its own pluses and minuses. The ‘pluses’ include being a go-getter at heart, always driven, committed, itching to continuously learn and grow and constantly wanting to move on because what I have isn’t simply enough, I want more… all the time.

Now to the ‘minuses’… well I beat myself up a lot when things don’t go the way I want them to, I constantly put pressure on myself to exceed my own expectations and others’ expectations, I don’t deal well with failure, I fear failure, I am constantly looking for what’s ‘new and better’, the desires are endless, I am rarely ever settled, I constantly question my own progress and performance, sometimes things are just not good enough and I am left unsatisfied with the circumstances of certain situations.

Now, to be honest I feel like I’ve focused more on the negatives than the positives. But my drive to excel and to keep growing is far greater than anything else that I desire in life.

This is just a reminder to myself really (and you if you’re reading this too), that it’s never too late. The truth is, life is a demanding journey, especially as you grow older and wiser. There’s never a reason that is justified to give up on what you really want. Stay focused. Keep trying. Be humble. Learn lots. Believe in yourself. Enjoy newness. Rise strong. Celebrate the good. Keep it real. Explore the unknown. And create magic with the power of the source that lies within you! *Insert fist pump here*.

Never give up!

That’s all I felt compelled to write for today.

Stay blessed.

Your Best Work

It’s good to stay grounded and remember that we are always doing the best that we can in every single moment. This present moment awareness also empowers us to perform better and to operate from a place of inspiration, passion and for our highest good.

Upon my own reflections, I’ve learned recently that your best work happens when…

⁃ You are aligned with your purpose

⁃ You have clarity through action (even taking those baby steps)

⁃ You turn fear into faith

⁃ You are accountable

⁃ You channel abundance instead of competitiveness

⁃ You stay true to yourself and your values

⁃ You adapt with change instead of resisting it

⁃ You challenge yourself

⁃ You are creative

⁃ Your actions speak louder than words

⁃ Your communication is clear and authentic

⁃ You continue to stay focused

⁃ You show up not show off

⁃ You learn from your mistakes

⁃ You turn failures into wisdom

⁃ You are not afraid to take chances

⁃ You are honest

⁃ You are patient with yourself and the process

⁃ You stay open to possibilities instead of limiting yourself to your own expectations and beliefs

⁃ You follow your inner guidance

⁃ You stay committed to your vision(s)

⁃ You embrace learning

⁃ You stay present

⁃ You are humble

⁃ You are grateful

⁃ You inject love into everything you do

⁃ You act with grace

Be the best version of yourself, in every moment. Not for others, but purely for yourself.

Stay blessed.

What’s Blocking You?

Right now, in this moment, what is blocking you from having what you want? What is blocking you from having what you would like? What is blocking you from the possibility of realising your dreams, your full potential, acquiring your desires and being the absolute best version of yourself?

The amount of work that we channel and invest in ourselves dictates our level of progress and how far we go in life. Time doesn’t stop for us. In every moment, we experience change. In every moment, we evolve. In every moment we have the power to realise and materialise our desires and dreams!

So what is it? Honestly. What is blocking you right now? Is it fear? Is it resistance? Is it negative emotion? Is it the unknown? Is it uncertainty? Is it past experiences? Write it down. Write it all down. Set aside some time to reflect on this.

Remember to check in with yourself regularly. We sometimes get so caught up with life and the day to day that we forget to stop and check in.

Transform your fear into faith. Transform your resistance to taking action. Transform your uncertainty to clarity. Transform the unknown to possibilities. And most of all, work on transforming yourself. The true power and grace lies within you. It all starts with you. That’s all for today.

Stay blessed.
